Job summary
Eastern Pacific Shipping Pte. Ltd. is seeking a seasoned Technical Superintendent to uphold Class and Flag State compliance and ensure peak fleet performance. You will lead technical operations, supervise drydock projects, and guide procurement and repairs across a modern, high-performing fleet.
The role requires a Class I COE / Chief Engineer Foreign Going and substantial tanker experience, with strong negotiation and leadership capabilities to manage complex costs and KPI targets.
Qualifications
- Certificate of Competency (Class I) or Chief Engineer Foreign Going required.
- Minimum 2 years as a superintendent or 6 months as a Chief Engineer on company vessels.
- At least 5 years tanker experience for tanker fleets.
- Proven negotiation skills and ability to manage complex technical costs.
Responsibilities
- Plan and monitor Class and Flag State survey requirements to keep certificates valid.
- Manage planned maintenance scheme and provide technical consultancy for repairs and troubleshooting.
- Oversee drydocking from specification and costing to on-site supervision.
- Approve store and spare part requisitions to optimize fleet supply chains.
- Monitor vessel performance data including bunker usage and oil consumption.
- Conduct routine inspections and audits for safety and quality compliance.
- Manage non-conformance reports and defects per Class/charterer requirements.
- Coach and mentor technical procurement staff and senior Ship Officers.
- Assist with technical specs for new buildings, conversions, and S&P inspections.
