Job summary

EASTERN PACIFIC SHIPPING PTE. LTD. is seeking an experienced Superintendent (Technical) to provide expert guidance on Class and Flag State requirements, vessel maintenance and performance management. The role involves supervising repairs, drydocking planning and cost control across tanker fleets.

The successful candidate will hold a Class I Chief Engineer certificate, have tanker experience, and excel in leadership, negotiation and KPI monitoring to uphold ship safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Must hold Certificate of Competency (Class I) / Chief Engineer Foreign Going.
• Min 2 years’ experience as Superintendent or 6 months as Chief Engineer in a related vessel.
• Minimum 5 years tanker experience is mandatory for Tanker fleets.
• Strong negotiation skills and people management experience.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills; able to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Plan and monitor Class and Flag State surveys to ensure valid certificates.
• Attend repairs and provide technical consultancy; monitor PMS/Worklist for vessels.
• Plan and oversee drydockings, review specs, costs and schedules; ensure lessons learned.
• Evaluate store and spare requisitions for approvals by Fleet Technical Manager or Fleet GM/Technical Director.
• Monitor running/drydock costs, fuel and lub oil consumption; report findings with recommendations.
• Coordinate with MSQV on hotwork permits and onboard initiatives.
