Job summary

SSMC in Singapore is seeking a Senior Equipment Engineer for our Etching Department. You will lead preventive maintenance, monitor equipment performance, and coordinate with process and manufacturing teams to meet module objectives. The role requires 2–5 years of wafer fab experience and strong analytical skills.

You will work 12-hour rotating day/night shifts, ensure ISO-compliant PMs, manage spares forecasting, and drive improvement projects to enhance equipment reliability and uptime.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical / Electronics / Mechatronics / Mechanical/ Microelectronics or equivalent.
• 2-5 years semiconductor wafer fab experience as an Equipment Engineer.
• Engineering knowledge across semiconductor devices, electronics, control systems, wafer fabrication, pumps and vacuum, wiring.
• Familiar with Lam etch tool.
• Good team player and strong analytical skills.

We’re searching for a Senior Equipment Engineer to be part of our Etching Department diverse team of talent. You will be responsible for equipment preventive maintenance and equipment performance indices.

What you will be working on:

• To sustain and improve all equipment performance indices to meet operations goals
• Perform 12 hours rotating day/night shift duties to support production with quality.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) and troubleshoot equipment-related problems to minimize equipment downtime
• Monitor and control equipment performance indices
• Maximize the uptime of equipment to sustain equipment performance
• Co-ordinate with both process and manufacturing Engineers to ensure work is carried out efficiently to meet module objectives
• Establish stock levels of essential spares and consumables to support equipment maintenance based on forecasted manufacturing volume
• Forecast equipment spares and other equipment-related expenditures
• Provide and maintain PM specifications for equipment to meet ISO requirements
• Organize training for AEs to upgrade their technical skills to perform tasks assigned and maximize their effectiveness
• Implement equipment improvement projects to upkeep capabilities and reliability of equipment with high quality.
• Participate in 10k idea, LSS & BKM programs to optimize equipment utilization and PM cost.
• Execute new equipment start-up to support production, from facilities hook-up, vendor start-up, to acceptance of equipment for production
• Documentation of Corrective Action and Best-Known Methods for equipment to allow more efficient troubleshooting
• Ensure good housekeeping and safety practices in the Fab
• Establish communication channel with Mother FAB to transfer BKM and perform benchmarking.
• To participate in Emergency Response Team (ERT) program to response during emergency situation.

More About You:

• Degree in Electrical / Electronics / Mechatronics / Mechanical/ Microelectronics or equivalent
• 2-5 years semiconductor wafer fab experience as an Equipment Engineer (The final job title will be assessed based on the candidate’s relevant experience and interview evaluation.)
• Engineering knowledge, which may include semiconductor devices theory, electronics, electrical/ pneumatic/ hydraulic control system, digital principle, wafer fabrication processes, pump and vacuum system and electrical wiring system
• Familiar with Lam etch tool
• Good Team Player
• Good Analytical & Problem-Solving skills
