Job summary

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a customer-facing role such as Customer Engineer, Security Engineer, Implementation Engineer, Onboarding Engineer, Consultant, Technical Support Engineer, Solutions Architect, or Systems Engineer.
• Knowledge of OSI model layers and protocols including TCP/IP, TLS, DNS, and HTTP.
• Deep understanding of Internet and security technologies including DDoS, WAF, Certificates, DNS, CDN, Analytics, and Logs.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Bash.
• Experience with Internet-property security technologies including Firewalls, WAFs, Bot Management, Rate Limiting and (M)TLS.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver timely, organized customer services and ensure customers realize the value of Cloudflare products and advice.
• Gather business and technical requirements, use cases, and other information to build, migrate, and deliver customer solutions.
• Produce solution designs, HLDs, LLDs, data builds, procedures, scripts, test plans, drawings, deployment plans, migration plans, as-builts, and other delivery artifacts.
• Implement changes in Cloudflare environments according to customer change-management processes.
• Guide customers in configuring CPEs and integration points.
• Troubleshoot implementation issues and collaborate with Customer Support, Engineering, and other teams on technical escalations.
• Contribute to internal and external documentation, technical Q&A, best practices, templates, automation scripts, procedures, and workflows.
• Provide advisory and hands-on implementation and migration services for enterprise customers.
• Travel approximately 30% and occasionally support weekend customer changes outside business hours.
