Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant construction experience, preferably interior fit-out experience.
  • Proven experience managing cleanroom construction or high-end interior fit-out projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, materials, finishes and coordination.
  • Experience managing workers, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and clients.
  • Strong understanding of project scheduling, quality management, and site safety.
  • Good knowledge of construction drawings and technical documentation.
  • Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in MS Project, AutoCAD & Microsoft Office, or other relevant project management software.

Responsibilities

  • Take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of interior fit-out projects.
  • Develop and monitor project schedules, milestones, manpower requirements, and work programs.
  • Coordinate all construction activities from mobilization to practical completion and handover.
  • Ensure projects are delivered within approved time, cost, quality, and safety requirements.
  • Identify project risks, constraints, and potential delays and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
  • Lead regular project progress meetings and prepare progress reports for management and clients.
  • Oversee daily site operations and ensure works are carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and schedules.
  • Coordinate architectural, structural, joinery, ceiling, flooring, painting, partition, and other fit-out trades.
  • Ensure proper sequencing and coordination between workers, subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Monitor site productivity, manpower deployment, materials, and equipment.
  • Resolve site coordination issues and construction conflicts promptly.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and ensure works meet required standards.
  • Act as the primary point of contact between the company, client, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Attend client, consultant, site, and coordination meetings.
  • Manage RFIs, technical queries, site instructions, inspections, approvals, and submissions.
  • Maintain effective communication with all project stakeholders.
  • Manage client expectations and proactively address project issues.
  • Monitor project costs against the approved budget.
  • Review subcontractor quotations, variations, progress claims, and payment applications.
  • Identify potential variations and ensure proper documentation and approval.
  • Work closely with the commercial/QS team to control project costs and maximize project profitability.
  • Monitor procurement and material costs to minimize unnecessary expenditure.
  • Coordinate procurement of materials, finishes, equipment, and specialist works.
  • Review subcontractor capabilities, quotations, programs, and performance.
  • Coordinate subcontractor appointments and work scopes.
  • Monitor subcontractor progress, quality, manpower, and compliance.
  • Ensure long-lead items are identified and procured on time.
  • Ensure all works comply with approved drawings, specifications, statutory requirements, and company standards.
  • Implement and maintain project quality control procedures.
  • Coordinate inspections, testing, mock-ups, and approvals.
  • Ensure compliance with site safety requirements and applicable regulations.
  • Work closely with the HSE/Safety team to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Ensure proper documentation of defects, rectification works, testing, and commissioning.
  • Coordinate testing, commissioning, inspections and rectification works.
  • Manage practical completion and client handover.
  • Ensure submission of as-built drawings, O&M manuals, warranties, certificates, and other close-out documentation.
  • Coordinate final account and project close-out with the commercial team.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Senior Engineer / Project Manager (Construction) to lead and manage interior fit-out projects from pre-construction through completion and handover.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overall project delivery, including planning, coordination, site execution, cost and schedule control, quality assurance, safety, subcontractor management, client coordination, and project close-out.

Key Responsibilities
1. Project Management
