Job summary

Lonza in Singapore's Tuas site is seeking a maintenance engineer to supervise daily routine work orders and ensure smooth production. This on-site role requires a mechanical engineering degree, GMP experience, and the ability to respond to on-call breakdowns, perform deviation investigations, and review GMP documentation in SAP.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily routine and repair work orders to minimize disruption to production.
• Respond on-call for service breakdowns and ensure maintenance works comply with GMP and EHS standards.
• Analyze data to develop engineering solutions to resolve problems quickly.
• Perform equipment breakdown troubleshooting with the maintenance team.
• Ensure audit readiness by complying with GMP, regulatory, and cGMP requirements.
• Review maintenance work orders in SAP to ensure GMP documentation is complete.
• Conduct deviation investigations and root-cause analysis and close Change Control tasks.
• Drive continuous improvement to enhance asset reliability and maintenance excellence.

This is a fully site‑based role at Singapore Tuas. Working together in person supports close, real‑time collaboration and the technical precision needed to manufacture medicines to the highest quality and safety standards.

What you'll do:

• Supervise daily routine and repair work orders as assigned to enable smooth handover and minimize disruption to production schedule.
• Respond on-call for service breakdown and ensure all routine maintenance works are duly carried out as scheduled and in compliance with Engineering standards and procedures and GMP and meet EHS requirement.
• Analyze and interpret data to develop solutions based on engineering knowledge and field experience to resolve problems quickly and effectively
• Perform equipment related breakdown/ failure troubleshooting/ recovery with maintenance Associate Engineer.
• Ensure audit readiness by complying with effective standards, regulatory/statutory and cGMP requirement to prevent major compliance observation.
• Perform reviewing of executed maintenance work order in SAP to ensure all GMP documentation related to maintenance activities is completed accurately and processed to full completion.
• Perform deviation investigation, root cause analysis for equipment breakdowns, addressing any technical enquiries and closing Change Control Tasks.
• Drive continuous improvement initiative to promote asset reliability and maintenance excellent to enhance equipment/ system/ process robustness.
