Job summary

Lonza Biologics Tuas Pte Ltd in Singapore is seeking a site-based Maintenance Engineer to oversee daily repair work orders, ensure GMP compliance, and support production scheduling at the Tuas site.

You will analyze data, perform breakdown troubleshooting with the maintenance team, prepare audit-ready documentation in SAP, and drive continuous improvement to enhance asset reliability. On-call duties and deviation investigations are required.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering related fields (mechanical engineering).
• GMP experience.
• Able to do on-call for machine breakdowns.
• Able to manage deviation cases.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily routine and repair work orders to minimize disruption to production schedule.
• Respond on-call for service breakdown and ensure maintenance works meet GMP, EHS and engineering standards.
• Analyze and interpret data to develop solutions using engineering knowledge and field experience.
• Perform equipment breakdown troubleshooting and recovery with maintenance team.
• Ensure audit readiness by complying with GMP documentation and regulatory requirements.
• Review executed maintenance work orders in SAP and complete GMP records.
• Drive deviation investigation and root-cause analysis for equipment issues and changes.
• Lead continuous improvement to boost asset reliability and maintenance excellence.

This is a fully site‑based role at Singapore Tuas. Working together in person supports close, real‑time collaboration and the technical precision needed to manufacture medicines to the highest quality and safety standards.

What you'll do:

• Supervise daily routine and repair work orders as assigned to enable smooth handover and minimize disruption to production schedule.
• Respond on-call for service breakdown and ensure all routine maintenance works are duly carried out as scheduled and in compliance with Engineering standards and procedures and GMP and meet EHS requirement.
• Analyze and interpret data to develop solutions based on engineering knowledge and field experience to resolve problems quickly and effectively
• Perform equipment related breakdown/ failure troubleshooting/ recovery with maintenance Associate Engineer.
• Ensure audit readiness by complying with effective standards, regulatory/statutory and cGMP requirement to prevent major compliance observation.
• Perform reviewing of executed maintenance work order in SAP to ensure all GMP documentation related to maintenance activities is completed accurately and processed to full completion.
• Perform deviation investigation, root cause analysis for equipment breakdowns, addressing any technical enquiries and closing Change Control Tasks.
• Drive continuous improvement initiative to promote asset reliability and maintenance excellent to enhance equipment/ system/ process robustness.
