Job summary

SSMC in Singapore is seeking a Process Engineer with a strong background in frontend semiconductor manufacturing to support CVD-related activities and drive process improvements.

You will sustain line operations, perform root cause analyses, and own tool performance metrics to reduce cost and scrap while contributing to SOPs and BKMs across multiple platforms. Training and cross-functional collaboration are key parts of the role.

Qualifications

• Master/degree in a relevant technical field as listed.
• At least 3 years’ experience in frontend semiconductor manufacturing.
• Solid knowledge of SPC, QC tools, 8D or DOE.

Responsibilities

• Support CVD process engineering activities to achieve operation targets and company objectives.
• Sustain line operations, troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis.
• Round-the-clock standby for tool issues and decision making as needed.
• Production and metrology tool ownership for cost, uptime, and scrap reduction.
• Develop and review Operating Instructions, SOPs, and BKMs to optimize processes.
• Lead cross-functional improvement projects using DOE and SPC.
• Participate in transfers to/from global wafer fabs from development to manufacturing.
• Contribute to Lean Six Sigma initiatives and drive value creation.
• Support automation for quality and cost; address non-conforming products with teams.
• Provide training for engineers and production technicians on best practices.

Job description

• Support CVD Process engineering related activities to achieve operation targets and meet company objectives


• Sustaining line operations, troubleshooting ( Participate/implementing corrective and preventive measures ) and root cause analysis


• Round the clock standby for impromptu tool issues and specific decision making


• Production and metrology Tool Ownership and accountability for Cost, Uptime, Wafers scrap, process sustaining issues


• Participate in creation and continuous review of Operating Instructions (OI), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Best-Known Methods (BKMS) to optimize Process and Equipment procedures


• Lead cross-functional improvement projects in yield, cost, quality, and tool performance using analytical techniques like DOE and SPC


• Participate/contribute to Process and Product transfers to and from different global networked wafer fabs from Development to engineering and manufacturing


• Participate in Transform Platform and develop Lean Six Sigma (LSS), Best Known Methods (BKM), patents and Trade Secrets and drive value creation


• Support BKM implementation, drive automation for quality and cost, and troubleshoot non-conforming products with cross-functional teams


• Provide training and support for certification of Engineers and Production Technicians

More about you

• Master/Degree in Chemical/ Materials/ Chemistry/ Physics or Electrical, Electronics Engineering and other relevant fields


• At least 3 years’ experience in frontend semiconductor manufacturing environment


• Good knowledge of SPC, basic QC tools, 8D or DOE


• Knowledge in the following processes: MOCVD HDPCVD , PECVD , SACVD , Thermal CVD , Electro-plating is preferred


• Basic knowledge in tools sets from Applied Materials Producer, Centura, DxZ and HDP , Centura WxZ, Endura and Tel Scrubbers, Novellus Altus & Novellus Sequel


• Proficient in Microsoft business applications
