Job summary

IT Consultancy & Services Pte Ltd is seeking an embedded software engineer to design and maintain NetZero products. You will work in a small team, selecting long-term Linux distributions (Yocto/Buildroot) and building a Home EMS using Open-Source Home Assistant components.

The role focuses on scalable software capable of global deployment, with initial emphasis on the European market, covering the full lifecycle from design to deployment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 3 years’ experience in embedded software development, preferably in a Linux environment.
• Proficient in C/C++ programming languages.
• Experience with embedded Linux distributions such as Yocto or Buildroot, and Linux kernel familiarity.
• Experience in EV charging systems is a plus.
• Familiarity with modern ARM SoCs and low-level device drivers.
• Experience with Home Assistant or similar open-source home automation platforms.
• Awareness of cybersecurity requirements and CE-RED Directive basics.
• Knowledge of data communication protocols, edge AI tools, and wireless tech such as Thread/Wi-Fi 7/BLE.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain embedded software for NetZero products, ensuring code reusability across projects.
• Collaborate with a small, focused team to deliver high-quality software within timelines.
• Identify and implement the best embedded Linux distribution for all projects with long-term consistency.
• Develop a Home EMS system based on a Linux OS stack using open-source Home Assistant components.
• Ensure software solutions are scalable for global markets, starting with Europe.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle: design, development, testing, deployment, maintenance.
• Stay updated with industry trends to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
