Job summary

HELIUS TECHNOLOGIES PTE. LTD. is seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to develop and maintain software for Net Zero and energy-management products.

You will work on Embedded Linux, C/C++, ARM-based systems, and device-level integration in a global market environment. You will collaborate in a small engineering team, evaluate Yocto/Buildroot distributions, and contribute to scalable software architectures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS/EE or related field.
• Minimum 3+ years of embedded software development experience.
• Strong programming in C/C++.
• Hands-on experience with Embedded Linux.
• Experience with Yocto/Buildroot or similar distributions.
• Familiarity with Linux kernel development.
• Experience with ARM SoCs, low-level programming, and drivers.
• Experience with Home Assistant is advantageous.
• Exposure to EV charging systems is a plus.
• Knowledge of Thread/Wi‑Fi/BLE and wireless tech.
• Understanding of embedded cybersecurity and secure design.
• Edge AI or AI-enabled embedded systems advantageous.
• Experience developing products for international markets is a plus.

• Research and evaluate emerging embedded, connectivity, and energy‑management technologies.

Role Overview

The role will focus on Embedded Linux, C/C++, Linux distributions, ARM-based systems, device-level integration, Home Energy Management Systems, and scalable software architectures for global markets.

• Participate across the full SDLC, including design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Research and evaluate emerging embedded, connectivity, and energy-management technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering , or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3+ years of embedded software development experience .
• Strong programming skills in C / C++ .
• Hands-on experience with Embedded Linux .
• Experience with Yocto, Buildroot , or similar Linux distributions.
• Familiarity with Linux kernel development .
• Experience with ARM SoCs , low-level programming, and device drivers.
• Experience with Home Assistant or similar home automation platforms is advantageous.
• Exposure to EV charging systems is a plus.
• Knowledge of communication protocols and modern wireless technologies such as Thread, Wi-Fi, BLE , or related technologies.
• Understanding of embedded cybersecurity, secure design, and product compliance requirements.
• Familiarity with edge AI or AI-enabled embedded systems is advantageous.
• Experience developing products for international markets is a plus
