Job summary

Tardis Group in Singapore seeks a Chartering and Operations professional to oversee day-to-day dry bulk vessel operations, coordinate chartering activities, and manage voyages. You will ensure timely fixtures and compliance with charter party terms while communicating with owners, charterers, brokers, port agents, and other stakeholders.

The role requires a maritime or related degree with 2–4 years of vessel operations experience, plus strong software proficiency and data-driven decision skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in vessel operations, with a focus on dry bulk shipping.
  • Strong understanding of dry bulk chartering principles, including fixture negotiations, laytime calculations, and voyage optimization.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in industry-specific software and tools, such as chartering platforms, voyage optimization software, and MS Office suite.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret market data, analyze performance metrics, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Proven ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of international maritime regulations, industry best practices, and risk management principles.

Responsibilities

  • Chartering and Operations: Oversee day-to-day operations of dry bulk vessels, including coordinating chartering activities, negotiating freight rates, and ensuring timely vessel fixtures.
  • Voyage Management: Monitor and manage vessel voyages, ensuring compliance with charter party agreements, loading and discharge operations, and voyage optimization.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Maintain effective communication with ship owners, charterers, brokers, port agents, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth execution and address issues timely.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Ensure all relevant documentation, including voyage instructions, laytime calculations, and demurrage claims, are accurately prepared and processed.
  • Market Analysis: Stay informed about market trends, freight rates, and industry developments affecting the dry bulk shipping sector, providing insights and recommendations.
  • Risk Management: Identify and assess potential risks, such as weather, port congestion, regulatory changes, and implement risk mitigation strategies.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze vessel performance metrics, including fuel consumption, speed, and cargo handling efficiency.
