Job summary

metasphere global services pte. ltd. is seeking a database professional to onboard and configure database servers, ensure high availability, and manage backups and recovery in a Singapore-based setup.

The role requires strong SQL, data modelling, data analysis, and hands-on work with PostgreSQL, Yugabyte, and cloud databases such as AWS RDS, plus Python/PySpark on Linux with Informatica for ETL workflows.

Qualifications

• Experience in database administration and support.
• Strong PostgreSQL or Yugabyte experience.
• SQL, data modelling and data analysis proficiency.
• Experience with Python, PySpark, Linux, and Informatica.
• Familiarity with Hive, Impala and Cloudera Data Platform preferred.
• Experience in Oracle, MS SQL, MySQL.
• Cloud DB experience (AWS RDS).

Responsibilities

• Application onboarding and configuring database servers per best practices.
• Designing and maintaining high availability solutions with replication and failover; plan for disaster recovery.
• Schedule regular backups, test recovery procedures, ensure data integrity.
• Monitor performance and optimize queries, schema, and server settings.
• Keep PostgreSQL up to date with patches and versions.
• Plan for database growth and scaling recommendations.
