Job summary

Longbridge Singapore is seeking a hands-on Database Administrator to own the data layer for our multi-region SaaS clusters (US/SG/JP). You will deploy, upgrade, backup and monitor PostgreSQL, MySQL and Redis, with a focus on availability and data integrity.

You will design multi-tenant data solutions, ensure high availability across zones, participate in performance tuning, and collaborate with engineering using Terraform, Bytebase and other tooling to automate onboarding of new tenants.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of production DBA experience with PostgreSQL and/or MySQL.
• Experience with HA and backup/recovery solutions and failover drills.
• Solid performance tuning: slow-query analysis, indexing, execution plans.
• Experience with AWS RDS/Aurora and cloud backup/recovery patterns.

Responsibilities

• Operate the databases of our multi-region SaaS clusters day to day: deployment, upgrades, backup and recovery, monitoring and incident handling — mainly PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, plus ClickHouse.
• Help design and deliver multi-tenant SaaS data solutions with tenant isolation and onboarding.
• Own multi-AZ high availability and DR drills within each region; meet RPO/RTO targets.
• Run capacity planning and performance tuning; participate in P0/P1 incident response and post-mortems.
• Improve database platform tooling (Terraform, Bytebase, self-service query tools) to automate market onboarding.
• Review schema designs and SQL with engineering; gate production changes with SRE.

Job description

Our databases power order management, market data, clearing and settlement, risk controls, and customer asset systems — with high demands on availability, data consistency, and multi-jurisdiction compliance.

We are looking for a DBA to join our Singapore team and take ownership of the operations and build-out of the data layer of our multi-region SaaS clusters, with plenty of room to grow into financial-grade data architecture and multi-market compliance practices.

What You Will Do

• Operate the databases of our multi-region (US/SG/JP) SaaS clusters day to day: deployment, upgrades, backup and recovery, monitoring and alerting, and incident handling — mainly PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, plus analytics engines such as ClickHouse.
• Help design and deliver our multi-tenant SaaS data solutions: tenant isolation (dedicated instance / database / schema), automated tenant onboarding (provisioning, password rotation), and per-tenant backup and recovery.
• Own multi-AZ high availability and DR drills within each region, meeting RPO/RTO targets for core systems.
• Run capacity planning and performance tuning: slow-query governance, indexing and execution plans, connection pooling; participate in P0/P1 incident response and post-mortems.
• Use and improve our database platform tooling (Terraform, Bytebase, self-service query tools) to make launching a new market or onboarding a new tenant increasingly automated.
• Review schema designs and SQL with engineering teams, gate production changes, and share on-call duties with SRE.

What We Are Looking For

• 3+ years of production DBA experience with PostgreSQL and/or MySQL, including independently handling live incidents.
• Hands-on experience with mainstream HA and backup/recovery solutions (e.g., replication, Patroni, MHA, or Redis Sentinel), including real failover or recovery drills.
• Solid performance tuning skills: slow-query analysis, index design, reading execution plans, diagnosing locking and connection-pool issues.
• Working experience with AWS RDS/Aurora (or equivalent cloud databases), including Multi-AZ deployment and cloud backup/recovery patterns.
• Working English: able to read and write documentation and join meetings in English; Mandarin is a plus.

Nice to Have

• Financial industry experience — database operations at a broker, exchange, payments, or banking system; familiarity with order, market-data, or settlement data models is a bonus.
• Larger-scale experience — systems with 100k+ QPS or TB+ data volumes.
• Database internals — deep understanding of MVCC, transaction isolation, and replication; able to analyze issues at the protocol or source-code level.
• Engineering skills — Python/Go/Shell scripting for ops tooling; Kubernetes experience.
• Time-series / analytics — production experience with ClickHouse or TimescaleDB.
