Job summary

Jobline Resources Pte Ltd is seeking an experienced Database Migration Engineer to lead migrations from MSSQL/Oracle to PostgreSQL in cloud environments. You will design, optimize, and secure database code while coordinating with product teams to minimize downtime.

The role requires deep expertise in SQL programming, performance tuning, and cross‑platform database design, with hands‑on experience in cloud services like AWS and Azure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field with 8–10 years of experience in database development and migration.
• Hands‑on experience as a database developer with strong SQL programming.
• Proficiency in SQL, T‑SQL, PL/SQL, and scripting languages.
• Strong understanding of database design principles.
• Experience with database performance tuning and optimization.
• Knowledge of database security and compliance requirements.
• Familiarity with MSSQL, Oracle, and PostgreSQL across cloud environments.
• Certifications in MSSQL, Oracle and PostgreSQL database development.

Responsibilities

• Lead migration and conversion of on-premises/cloud databases (MSSQL, Oracle) to PostgreSQL on cloud services.
• Design and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functions in MSSQL/Oracle/PostgreSQL.
• Collaborate with application teams to ensure data integrity and minimal downtime during migrations.
• Ensure database code meets performance, security and coding standards.
• Diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks (queries, indexing, I/O, memory).
• Implement indexing, partitioning, and query optimization on cloud platforms.
• Monitor post-migration performance using native cloud tools.
