Job summary

Grab is Southeast Asia's leading superapp, seeking a Senior Data Scientist to build in-house ML platforms and production-grade LLM solutions, solving large-scale business problems for millions of users and merchant partners. Reporting to the Senior Data Science Manager, this full-time role is based onsite at One North, Singapore.

You will apply cutting-edge technologies, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive impactful ML initiatives while advancing AI workflows and scalable data

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Operations Research, Mathematics, Data Science, or related quantitative field.
• At least 2 years of hands-on industry experience building, deploying, and monitoring ML or deep learning models in production.
• Proficiency in Python and PyTorch; practical experience with SQL and Spark for distributed data processing.
• Understanding of data extraction, transformation, and pipeline engineering (ETL) within large-scale data platforms.
• Hands-on experience developing or fine-tuning transformer models, NLP architectures, or modern LLM frameworks.
• Ability to translate ambiguous business tasks into concrete ML formulations with measurable impact.
• Experience using AI tools to improve productivity and workflows.

Responsibilities

• Architect scalable ML solutions for large-scale prediction, classification, and forecasting problems.
• Deploy production LLMs and pipelines in collaboration with software engineers.
• Process & feature engineering on massive multi-modal datasets and build data pipelines using distributed frameworks.
• Measure business impact with offline evaluations and online A/B experiments.
• Drive platform innovation by staying at the forefront of ML and GenAI research and contributing to IP.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Operations to translate requirements into scalable ML features.
• Leverage GenAI tools to accelerate code delivery, pipeline testing, and documentation.
