Job summary

Renesas Electronics is seeking a Staff Quality Engineer to support strategic customers by driving disciplined quality execution across advanced semiconductor technologies. You will be a trusted customer-facing quality expert, translating customer expectations into internal execution plans and strengthening confidence through data-backed communication.

The role requires collaboration with fab, assembly/test, R&D, product engineering, and supply chain teams to manage high-visibility quality

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant experience with BSEE or 8+ years with MSEE or equivalent
• Experience supporting strategic customers and cross-functional escalation teams
• Hands-on experience with semiconductor processes (Assembly, Test, Post Test)
• Proven problem-solving skills using 8D, 5-Why, and Fishbone methodologies
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with internal/external groups

Responsibilities

• Customer Quality Support: act as a technical quality contact for key customers and support quality reviews and escalations
• Performance Tracking: monitor customer quality metrics (PPM, RMA, failure analysis requests, audits, scorecards) and drive improvements
• Issue Resolution: lead containment-to-closure with cross-functional teams (fab, assembly/test, R&D, product engineering, supply chain)
• Communication: prepare clear, data-backed updates for customer meetings and internal reviews with defined owners and timelines
• Continuous Improvement: use field data and failure analysis to reduce recurrence and support design-for-quality efforts
• Risk Readiness: support proactive risk reviews including audits and product-change communications
