Job summary

The Senior Chemist at MSD INTERNATIONAL GMBH (SINGAPORE BRANCH) supports QC testing for Finished Products and packaging components, ensuring cGMP compliance and regulatory requirements, and contributes to site procedures.

You will coach junior staff, drive continuous improvement, support regulatory inspections, review data, and release results, while maintaining records and equipment readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, analytical chemistry, biochemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, or related field.
• 5+ years in the pharmaceutical industry preferred.
• Strong knowledge of cGMP, GLP, data integrity, investigations, and regulatory requirements.
• Proficient in analytical/physical testing techniques and lab systems such as Empower, LIMS/GLIMS and SAP.
• Leadership, coaching and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform and review testing of finished products, cleaning samples, and incoming packaging components.
• Review and release laboratory results per procedures and specs.
• Lead or support investigations (OOS/OOt/deviations) and implement CAPAs.
• Provide troubleshooting and support method transfer, validation, verification, and equipment qualification.
• Author/review SOPs, test methods, protocols, reports, and other quality documents.
• Train, qualify, and mentor laboratory personnel; maintain qualification records.
• Support regulatory inspections, internal audits, and inspection readiness activities.
• Monitor lab metrics, identify improvements, and drive CI initiatives.
• Manage laboratory equipment, reagents, reference standards, and consumables.
