Job summary

Sanmina in Singapore is seeking a Senior Buyer to lead the procurement team, drive NPI material readiness, and optimize purchasing processes. You will mentor junior buyers and coordinate with the Penang team on sourcing and systems.

The role requires at least 5 years in electronics manufacturing, strong MRP knowledge, and hands-on experience in purchasing and supply chain management. You will influence supplier performance and work across planning, inventory, and payments.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in Electronics Manufacturing industry or related field.
• Experience leading procurement teams and cross-functional collaboration.
• Knowledge of MRP systems.
• Experience with purchasing and supply chain processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and supervise the procurement team to drive performance and operational excellence.
• Train and develop junior buyers, supporting the Penang team on sourcing strategies, systems, and best practices.
• Ensure prompt execution of MRP exception reports to meet target metrics and mitigate risk.
• Drive E&O and vendor liability management strategies to reduce financial risk.
• Oversee PO approvals and resolve AP hold issues to ensure smooth supplier payments.
• Lead procurement for New Product Introductions (NPI) and ensure material availability for common parts.
• Manage supplier relationships and conduct performance appraisals across lead times, quality, and cost.
• Provide operational reports and ad-hoc analytics to support procurement strategy.

Team Leadership & Capability Building

• Lead, mentor, and supervise the procurement team, driving performance and operational excellence.
• Train and develop junior buyers—specifically supporting the Penang team—on sourcing strategies, systems, and best practices.

Materials & Inventory Management

• Ensure prompt execution of MRP exception reports to meet and exceed target M3K metrics.
• Mitigate financial risk by driving proactive excess/obsolescence (E&O) and vendor liability management strategies.
• Oversee scrap and attrition administration to minimize operational losses.

Supply Planning & Procurement Operations

• Generate and analyze 3-month rolling simulation reports to track component support status and mitigate stockout risks.
• Manage and maintain purchasing parameters, master data, and TAM (Total Addressable Market / Allocation) files to ensure system accuracy.
• Oversee purchase order (PO) approval workflows and resolve Accounts Payable (AP) hold issues to ensure seamless supplier payments.

New Product Introduction (NPI)

• Lead the procurement team in driving NPI projects, ensuring strategic alignment and material availability for common parts.

Vendor Management & Performance

• Manage supplier relationships and operational performance for AOS (Automated Ordering System / Vendor list).
• Conduct regular supplier performance appraisals, tracking key metrics across lead times, quality, and cost compliance.

General Operations

• Perform operational report generation and ad-hoc analytics to support procurement strategy.
• Execute additional duties and special projects as assigned by management.

Job Requirements:

• Degree / Diploma in Business Studies, Supply Chain Management or equivalent
• Minimum 5 year of experience in Electronics Manufacturing industry or in related field.
