Senior Backend QA Engineer – Automation & Big Data

Job summary

Broadchains Fintech in Singapore is seeking an experienced QA Engineer to design and execute comprehensive test plans for backend systems, APIs, and databases. You will drive automation initiatives, participate in Agile ceremonies, and lead big data QA efforts to improve release quality.

The role requires 7+ years of QA experience, strong coding skills (Java/Python/JS), and proficiency with Selenium/JUnit/TestNG.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of QA engineering experience with backend testing and automation.
• Hands-on testing across full lifecycle, both manual and automated.
• Proficiency in Java, Python, or JavaScript with automation tools.
• Strong API, database, microservices, CI/CD and SDLC knowledge.
• Familiarity with QA efficiency tools, AI/LLM, performance and security testing.
• Experience with StarRocks, Kafka; big data QA is a plus.
• Fluent English with strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with developers, product managers, customer support, and partners to ensure high-quality product delivery.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Design, maintain, and execute test plans, test cases, and automated test scripts.
• Perform manual and automated testing for backend systems, APIs, databases, and distributed services.
• Identify, analyze, track, and report defects, including root cause analysis of failures.
• Conduct testing for new features and document test scenarios and expected behaviors.
• Advocate QA best practices and improve overall test coverage and product quality.
• Perform performance, security, and scalability testing for backend services.
• Lead big data QA testing, automation framework setup, data comparison scripts, and release process improvements.
