Job summary

OCBC Bank is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to design and build scalable APIs, optimize backend services, and seamlessly integrate traditional AI and generative AI models to accelerate innovation and business growth. As a senior member, you will own development from ideation to production and shape product direction with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python, JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Experience building RESTful APIs and GraphQL endpoints.
• Solid SQL and NoSQL knowledge (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.).
• Familiarity with CI/CD, testing and monitoring tools.
• Experience with containers and Kubernetes/Docker.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems.
• Build high-quality, scalable code for microservices and APIs.
• Lead system design decisions and collaborate with data scientists and software engineers.
• Manage databases, ensure data integrity, and optimize queries.
• Ensure reliability through monitoring, performance tuning, and incident management.
