Job summary

OCBC Bank is seeking a Senior VP Data Engineer to lead the modernization of data architectures and lakehouse platforms. You will mentor a high-performing data engineering team and drive AI-driven engineering and best practices across the organisation.

You will collaborate with business units, analytics, and AI teams to deliver trusted data solutions while establishing reusable platforms and standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering/Math or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in Data Engineering or Data Platforms.
• Experience leading large-scale data modernization projects.

Responsibilities

• Architect and maintain scalable data platforms and pipelines across hybrid/cloud environments.
• Lead development of batch and real-time data processing using Spark/PySpark.
• Implement lakehouse architectures with Apache Iceberg and open metadata/catalogs.
• Drive migration of legacy workloads to cloud-native architectures.
• Build automated ETL/ELT pipelines with data quality, monitoring, and observability.
• Enable AI-ready data foundations for ML/GenAI use cases.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists, AI/ML Engineers, and business teams.
