Job summary

SGX Group is seeking a highly analytical Senior Associate to join the Securities Exchange Operations team in Singapore. You will gain deep exposure to the inner workings of a leading securities exchange and contribute to the capital markets ecosystem.

The role requires strong understanding of the Singapore securities market, including equities trading, clearing & settlement workflows, and market structure. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to execute exchange

Qualifications

• Degree holder with 1–4 years of experience in securities market operations.
• Good understanding of Singapore securities market, trading practices, and clearing & settlement.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate and timely execution of daily exchange operations across multiple functional areas (listings, trading, clearing & settlement).
• Monitor operations, identify exceptions, risks, and issues requiring escalation and resolution.
• Provide operational support during market incidents, new initiatives, and production events within a 24-hour environment.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and risk reduction.
• Lead projects to develop securities products and platforms.
• Build relationships with trading/clearing members, issuers, vendors, banks, and market participants.
• Serve as a trusted operational contact point for stakeholders and provide timely market-related support.
• Support team leaders to build a cohesive, high-performing team.

Job Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate and timely execution of daily exchange operations across one or more functional areas, including:
  • Listings and trading operations
  • Clearing & settlement activities
  • New product launches and market readiness activities
  • Support and servicing for issuers and members
• Monitor operational activities and identify exceptions, risks, and issues requiring escalation and resolution.
• Provide operational support during market incidents, new initiatives, and production events within a 24-hour operating environment.
• Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and operational risk reduction.

• Take the lead and drive the completion of projects and initiatives to develop the securities products and platforms.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with trading/clearing members, issuers, vendors, banks and other market participants.

• Serve as a trusted operational contact point for stakeholders and provide timely support for market-related enquiries.
• Support team manager and supervisors to build an effective and cohesive team contributing to SGX’s success.

Job Requirements

• Degree holder with minimum 1-4 years of experience in securities market operations.
• Good understanding of Singapore securities market, trading practices, bank operations, listings, trade lifecycle processes, exchange rules, market data services and clearing & settlement.

• Familiarity with exchange systems, trading platforms, market data platforms, or brokerage systems will be an advantage.

• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to solve complex operational problems.
• Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions under pressure and manage ambiguity.

• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to operational accuracy.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Effective stakeholder management and relationship-building capabilities.

• Strong team player, self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset.

• Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
• Experience with AI, SQL, VBA, Python, Power BI, or automation tools will be advantageous.
