Job summary

The Meyer Consulting Group is assisting a securities client in Singapore to hire an experienced Operations Manager for the Singapore Operations team. The ideal candidate will support the Head of Operations in day-to-day management, with a focus on Middle Office and Trading Support for Equities.

You will oversee the trade lifecycle, collaborate with Front Office, Risk, Compliance and Finance, and drive process improvements as the business grows.

Qualifications

• 10–15 years' experience in securities/banking Operations with strong Equities Middle Office and Trading Support.
• End-to-end equities trade lifecycle knowledge.
• Experience collaborating with Sales and Trading/Front Office.
• Problem-solving and execution-focused in a lean team.
• Fluent in Mandarin and English.
• Experience in a securities firm or investment bank preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support Head of Operations in managing day-to-day Singapore Operations.
• Provide hands-on Middle Office and Trading Support for Equities.
• Oversee the trade lifecycle: booking, confirmation, allocation, settlement and resolution of trade breaks.
• Collaborate with Front Office, Operations, Risk, Compliance, Finance and Technology.
• Identify and resolve operational issues with escalation and follow-through.
• Review and strengthen operational processes, controls and procedures as the Singapore business grows.
• Support the Head of Operations on projects, new business initiatives, system/process enhancements and operational change.
• Coordinate with regional teams on operational matters and projects.
• Be willing to roll up sleeves and handle operational matters directly when required.
• Provide coverage and support to the Head of Operations and take on broader responsibilities as the team develops.

Our client is an established Securities firm looking to hire an experienced Operations Manager to join its Singapore Operations team. The individual will be a key person to support the Head of Operations in day-to-day management of the function as well as ongoing projects and business initiatives. This role requires someone with strong Middle Office and Trading Support experience (Equities) who is comfortable working in a growing environment where processes and responsibilities continue to evolve.

Key Responsibilities

1. Support the Head of Operations in managing the day-to-day Operations function in Singapore.
2. Provide hands-on Middle Office and Trading Support for the Equities business.
3. Oversee the trade lifecycle, including trade booking, confirmation, allocation, settlement and resolution of trade breaks.
4. Work closely with Front Office, Operations, Risk, Compliance, Finance and Technology to ensure smooth and controlled processing of transactions.
5. Identify and resolve operational issues and ensure appropriate escalation and follow-through.
6. Review and strengthen operational processes, controls and procedures as the Singapore business grows.
7. Support the Head of Operations on projects, new business initiatives, system/process enhancements and operational change.
8. Coordinate with regional teams on operational matters and projects.

Requirements

1. 10–15 years' experience in securities/banking Operations, with strong experience in Equities Middle Office and Trading Support.
2. Good understanding of the end-to-end equities trade lifecycle and associated operational controls.
3. Experience working closely with Sales and Trading / Front Office teams.
4. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to independently manage operational issues.
5. Hands-on and execution-oriented; comfortable operating within a lean team.
6. Comfortable with ambiguity and change, with the ability to build or improve processes rather than relying solely on established structures.
7. Able to manage both BAU Operations and projects simultaneously.
8. Strong stakeholder-management skills across Front Office and corporate/support functions.
9. Fluency in Mandarin and English is required to communicate effectively with regional stakeholders.
10. Prior experience within a securities firm, investment bank or brokerage environment preferred.
