Job summary

MINDEF is seeking a seasoned cybersecurity professional to lead 24/7 threat collection and analysis, delivering early warnings on emerging cyber threats and data breaches. The role involves coordinating with stakeholders, guiding junior officers, and adapting tools for enhanced situational awareness.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years in cybersecurity, strong knowledge of open-source collection and MITRE ATT&CK, and relevant certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Security, CS, or CE.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant cybersecurity experience.
• Two professional cybersecurity certifications or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Job description

What the role is:

You are responsible for performing 24/7 threat collection and analysis to provide early warnings on emerging cyber threats and potential data breaches.

What you will be working on:

• Assist in managing projects that meet the team's operational requirements in threat collection operations
• Work closely with stakeholders to analyse malware samples
• Procure, develop and implement technical solutions to enhance threat collection operations
• Conduct research to keep pace with developments and maintain access to information sources
• Provide guidance and advice to junior officers in the branchChallenge(s)
• Thinking out-of-the-box, improvising and adapting tools and techniques for effective threat collection operations that will provide enhanced early warning and situational awareness

What we are looking for:

• Education in Information Security, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred
• At least 6 years of relevant work experience
• Possession of at least two professional certifications or industry-recognised qualifications related to cybersecurity
• Strong knowledge in open-source collection
• Understanding of MITRE ATT&CK and malware behaviours
• Strong critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills
