MINDEF seeks a candidate to assist in providing timely assessments of geo-strategic and security-related developments to support informed decision-making. You will monitor regional and global defence-news, synthesize context, and conduct research to fill information gaps and validate preliminary judgments.
Applicants with no experience may apply; appointment will be commensurate with experience. Strong written English and analytical abilities are required to communicate findings effectively.
You assist in providing timely and accurate assessments of the geo-strategic and security-related developments to support informed decision-making.
- Monitor defence and security-related developments in the region and the world- Sense-make the developments within the existing geo-political context- Conduct research and analysis to fill information gaps and validate preliminary assessments- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure assessments are well-substantiated and comprehensive- Produce written assessment papers to communicate findings and analytical judgementsChallenge(s)- Maintaining a current and nuanced appreciation of complex geo-strategic and security-related developments across multiple regions simultaneously- Synthesising diverse and occasionally incomplete information into timely, accurate, and well-reasoned written assessments
- Education in International Relations, Political Science, Security Studies, or a related field is preferred- Relevant experience in research, analysis, or a related field, with exposure to geo-strategic or security-related subject matter is preferred- Strong analytical and sense-making skills- Excellent written communication skills in English- Good appreciation of geo-strategic and security-related developments(Applicants with no experience may apply.)Appointment will be commensurate with your experience.Only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
