Job summary

Smiths Interconnect, a Molex company, is seeking a Field Applications Engineer in Singapore to act as the technical interface between customers, Sales and Engineering, driving design wins and early-stage engagement.

You will collaborate with Sales, Customer Service and Engineering to develop solutions, support field issues, and deliver training, while maintaining records and ensuring EHS compliance across global teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field; 5+ years experience.
• Experience working directly with customers to resolve complex technical challenges.
• Strong project management and organisational skills and ability to work independently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for presentations and stakeholder engagement.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modelling, reviews, tolerances, and drawings.
• Willingness to travel on short notice with travel <10%.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Sales during customer visits to identify needs and requirements.
• Qualify and communicate new product and business opportunities to internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Engineering to develop optimal technical solutions and secure design wins.
• Conduct design reviews with customers and internal teams, providing feedback on designs.
• Promote adherence to engineering standards and cost-efficient solutions.
• Drive business growth across assigned product segments and strategic accounts.
• Monitor emerging technology trends and customer roadmaps.
• Develop product specifications, application notes, and technical marketing materials.
• Maintain accurate customer and application records for global teams.
• Provide technical support for field issues and product troubleshooting.
• Deliver product training and guidance to customers, Sales teams, and distributors.
• Use laboratory equipment to perform assembly, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair activities.
• Ensure compliance with EHS programmes, policies, and training requirements.
