Job summary

Molex Singapore Pte Ltd seeks a Sr Engineer, Field Application to provide expert technical support for customers using SMT, PTH, and Press-Fit interconnect solutions. You will act as SME, guiding product engineering, manufacturing, and QA teams globally and working with customers to resolve complex application issues.

You will develop guidelines, train teams, and lead design reviews, with emphasis on design for manufacturability and robust validation.

Qualifications

• Need strong knowledge of soldering and Press-Fit technologies.
• Experience with SMT, PTH, and Press-Fit manufacturing processes.
• Proven problem-solving, critical thinking, and customer-facing communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional and global environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate internally with Manufacturing Operations, Quality, Advanced-Quality Planning, and Reliability Test Laboratory.
• Liaise with customers, contract manufacturers, suppliers, and test laboratories to resolve application issues.
• Lead initiatives to develop new SMT/PTH/Press-Fit guidelines and train teams to resolve SMT issues.
• Act as SME on SMT/PTH/Press-Fit applications, providing guidance and training to multiple teams worldwide.
• Participate in front-end connector design reviews, risk assessments, and product design reviews (DFM, DVPR, FMEA).
• Design soldering testing and validation plans, develop test fixtures, and set product validation parameters.
• Conduct manufacturing process reviews and validations at customers or contract manufacturers sites.
• Collaborate to improve new product development processes and handling of initiatives and yield improvement programs.
