Job summary

Molex is seeking an Engineer in Product Design within our Datacom and Specialty Solutions Division in Singapore. The role focuses on driving new product development from concept to market, researching innovative designs, leading development activities, and supporting lifecycle management to meet customer requirements and improve manufacturing processes.

You will collaborate across teams, engage with customers and suppliers, and lead design reviews to ensure manufacturability and reliability.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in product design and development, preferably in connector design and manufacturing.
• Strong product design engineering knowledge with creativity and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Review customer requirements and conduct design feasibility studies.
• Benchmark competitor designs and generate design proposals using CAD.
• Lead design reviews, design verification, and design FMEA for manufacturability and reliability.
• Manage design documentation and coordinate with Legal for patent opinions.
• Support product introduction by visiting customers and manufacturing partners.
• Provide engineering support for product modifications, cost reductions, and process improvements.
• Participate in cost reduction activities and respond to customer design issues.
• Train and mentor other engineers and support departmental initiatives.
