Job summary

Joint Shipyard Management Services Pte. Ltd. is seeking a Security Supervisor to oversee dormitory security operations at Kian Teck Hostel in Singapore.

The role requires supervising officers, enforcing rules, and coordinating risk assessments and incident reporting. Candidate must hold a PLRD Security License at Security Supervisor rank and possess strong investigative and reporting abilities, with a track record in security or fire safety supervision.

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent with GCE O/N level or equivalent.
• PLRD Security License with minimum rank of Security Supervisor.
• At least 5 years of supervisory experience in security operations and fire safety procedures.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Proven investigation skills and strong report writing abilities.
• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to interact professionally with diverse residents.
• Ability to conduct security patrols and physical inspections.
• Willing to work rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Enforces dormitory rules, regulations, and security requirements.
• Reviews dormitory procedures and risk assessments; updates as needed.
• Ensures security policies and procedures are followed by officers.
• Supervises security officers on day-to-day security operations.
• Assists Dormitory Manager with staff performance and disciplinary issues.
• Ensures personnel have valid licenses and training (e.g., PLRD, SSIC, HSE, Fire & Emergency).
• Guides officers on access control and screening to prevent unauthorized access.
• Prepares shift briefing notes and conducts daily briefings.
• Oversees documentation such as gate passes, incident reports, and log books.
• Plans deployments for internal and external events and drills.
• Coordinates with stakeholders to address security issues and improvements.
• Maintains security systems and equipment functionality; escalates faults.
• Represents security in meetings and prepares relevant reports.
• Performs traffic control and marshalling at dormitory entrances.
• Other duties as assigned by Dormitory Manager.

Job description

• Enforces dormitory houserules, regulations, and security requirements.
• Reviews dormitoryprocedures and risk assessment. Ensure dormitory procedures, risk assessmentsand instructions are followed and updated when necessary.
• Ensures security policies, protocols and procedures are followed by officers in the team. This includes risk assessments, safe work procedures and other instructions issued by Dormitory Manager.
• Supervises security agency security officers on day-to‑day security operations.
• Assists Dormitory Manager to monitor the performance and development of agency security personnel, addressing any disciplinary issues.
• Ensures security personnel in the team possess the necessary training, licenses and certification required to perform their duties. Ensure applicable licenses and training of personnel under their charge are valid such as PLRD license, SSIC, HSE Induction, Fire & Emergency Response related‑training &certification, etc.
• Assists and guides security officers and supervisors as they perform their duties such as access control and screening of residents, visitors, contractors, employees, vendors, delivery drivers, vehicles, etc. to prevent unauthorized access into the dormitory.
• Prepares shift briefing notes and oversee the conduct of daily shift briefings to the security team.
• Conducts supervisory checks on documents processed by Security Officers such as gate pass, declaration forms, key book, lost & found, occurrence book, vehicle entry permits, visitors data systems, etc.
• Oversees the deployment roster prepared by the in-house Security Supervisor, and reviews/amends as required to meet operational needs, assisting the Dormitory Manager as needed.
• Plans, coordinates and deploys security personnel for internal and external events.
• Supervises security officers responding to incidents and emergencies.
• Deploys security personnel during drills and exercises.
• Provides feedback to Dormitory Manager on possible security threats and recommend mitigation measures.
• Coordinates with internal and external stakeholders to address security issues, surface process vulnerabilities and improvement.
• Ensures condition of security systems and equipment are working and elevate to the relevant party to rectify any faults.
• Represents security department when participating in internal and external meetings.
• Prepare reports such as incident reports, drill and exercise reports, police report, etc.
• Conducts traffic control and marshalling at dormitory entrances and gates to ensure a safe and smooth traffic for residents, staff and vehicle users.
• Any other duties and responsibilities assigned by Dormitory Manager.

Requirements:

• Diploma in any field, GCE 'O'/'N' Level or equivalent.
• Valid PLRD Security License with minimum rank of Security Supervisor
• Minimum 5 years of relevant supervisory capacity in the security operations and fire safety procedures
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Proven investigation skills and strong report writing abilities
• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to interact professionally with diverse residents
• Ability to conduct security patrols and physical inspections
• Willing to work on rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays, based on operational requirements.
