Job summary

Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology (IMCB) in Singapore seeks a Scientist for the Translational Retinal Research Laboratory. The role leads stem cell-derived retinal models, multi-omics analyses, and translational studies for AMD and other retinal diseases.

You will collaborate across disciplines to identify biomarkers, targets, and therapeutic strategies while mentoring junior researchers and contributing to publications and grants.

Qualifications

• PhD in a relevant biomedical field with a strong publication record.
• Independent, creative researcher able to design and troubleshoot experiments.
• Experience with retinal biology, stem cell biology or regenerative medicine is essential.
• Experience with omics approaches and data analysis is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design, execute, and optimize experiments with stem cell-derived retinal cells (RPE and related populations).
• Develop in-vitro retinal disease models to study mechanisms and therapies.
• Generate and interpret complex datasets to identify pathways and targets.
• Collaborate with bioinformaticians, clinicians, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Contribute to development and evaluation of novel biologic therapies for retinal diseases.
• Mentor junior staff and interns in experimental design and data analysis.
• Present findings at meetings and conferences; contribute to collaborations.
• Prepare manuscripts and assist in grant proposals and reports.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure biosafety/compliance.
