Job summary

IMCB (Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology) in Singapore seeks a Research Officer to join Dr Soh Boon Seng’s lab, focusing on developing novel therapeutics and disease modelling platforms. The role involves performing experiments under project leads, supporting routine lab operations, and contributing to data analysis and documentation.

The candidate will maintain iPSC/ESC lines, assist in disease modelling assays, and participate in experimental design and records management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in biomedical sciences or related fields.
• Interest in stem cell biology, disease modelling and therapeutic discovery.
• Experience in basic cell culture and molecular biology techniques (Microscopy, qPCR, Western Blotting, Immunofluorescence).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team with a positive work attitude and a willingness to learn.
• Good organizational skills to plan and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Maintain iPSC and ESC cell lines and perform routine differentiation protocols towards cardiovascular and related lineages.
• Assist in disease modelling assays using advanced laboratory techniques.
• Contribute to experimental design, data analysis and documentation of research findings.
• Maintain accurate, timely records of experimental procedures, results, and data analysis.
• Assist with equipment maintenance, reagent and consumable management, safety procedures, and procurement of laboratory supplies to ensure smooth daily operations.
