Job summary

SUNNYHILL ACE PTE. LTD. seeks an organized, hands-on operator to anchor the Science Department’s operations at Woodgrove Primary School. This blended role covers laboratory systems, safety, and maintenance of outdoor learning ecosystems.

Responsibilities include practical work prep, equipment servicing, and safety compliance, alongside horticultural upkeep of outdoor spaces and smart farming timers. Administrative duties in inventory and procurement support are also part of the role.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualification is a GCE ‘O’ Level Certificate or equivalent.
• Preferred: formal study in Science at secondary or tertiary level.
• 2 years of hands-on experience in a primary school science laboratory.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct technical support to Science teachers by preparing, setting up, and cleaning up materials, specimens, and apparatus for primary school experiments.
• Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and simple repairs on science learning assets and electrical components.
• Oversee cultivation, propagation, and routine maintenance of school plants and outdoor spaces; manage Vegepods and irrigation timers.
• Assist the HOD (Science) with invoices, hardware orders, and basic departmental financial logs.

• Working Hours: Mondays to Fridays, 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM (Inclusive of a 60-minute lunch break; hours may be adjusted based on school operational needs).

Job Description & Core Responsibilities

We are looking for an organized, hands-on, and proactive individual to anchor our Science Department's operations. This blended role requires managing standard science laboratory systems while actively maintaining the school's outdoor green learning ecosystems.

1. Laboratory Technical & Logistical Support

• Practical Work Preparation: Provide direct technical support to Science teachers by preparing, setting up, and cleaning up materials, specimens, and apparatus required for primary school experiments.
• Equipment Maintenance: Perform regular servicing, troubleshooting, and simple technical repairs on common Science learning assets, electrical circuit components, and customized activity kits.
• Safety Compliance: Enforce laboratory safety rules and risk-assessment frameworks through strict housekeeping standards and routine safety equipment validation cycles.

2. Outdoor Green Learning Spaces Upkeep

• Horticultural Operations: Oversee the cultivation, propagation, replacement, and general maintenance of school plants.
• Eco-Space Maintenance: Execute routine outdoor activities including weeding, pruning, fruit protection, and harvesting.
• Smart Farming Maintenance: Supervise and maintain automated and modern agricultural systems, including Vegepods and self-watering irrigation timers.

3. Departmental Administration & Finance

• Inventory Control: Collate existing department resources, manage structured stock checks, and handle incoming deliveries.
• Procurement Support: Assist the HOD (Science) in verifying invoices, placing hardware orders, and organizing basic departmental financial or bookkeeping logs.
• Ad-hoc Tasks: Undertake other operational duties assigned by School Leaders or the Science department management team.

Job Requirements

• Minimum Qualification: At least a GCE ‘O’ Level Certificate or equivalent. Candidates who have formally studied Science at a secondary or tertiary level will have a distinct advantage.
• Proven Experience: Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience working directly in a primary school science laboratory is preferred.
• Key Skillsets:Strong practical understanding of laboratory safety protocols and housekeeping guidelines. Demonstrated knowledge and physical capability to handle plant cultivation and outdoor gardening maintenance. Proficient in Microsoft Productivity Tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for generating clean asset tracking charts and financial logs.
• Interpersonal Attributes: Excellent communicator who works well with both school staff (adults) and primary school pupils (children).
