Job summary

BUSINESS EDGE PERSONNEL SERVICES PTE LTD is recruiting for a School Laboratory & Grounds Support role in Singapore. You will assist science teachers with equipment preparation and maintenance, support outdoor learning spaces, and ensure safety in the science lab.

Role includes inventory, order placements, deliveries and record-keeping. The position runs from 1 Jan 2027 to 31 Dec 2027 with possible extension; 7.30am–5pm, Monday to Friday, in Woodlands.

Qualifications

• Good understanding of laboratory safety is essential.
• Preferably studied science in school or a recognized institute of learning.
• At least O Levels certificate or minimum 2 years experience in a primary school laboratory.
• Good communicator who can work well with both adults and children.

Responsibilities

• Provide logistical and technical support to the teachers-in-charge of Science for practical activities.
• Maintain and prepare materials and apparatus for experiments.
• Keep outdoor green learning spaces tidy with horticultural activities and plant care.
• Assist with stock checks, orders, deliveries and departmental records.
• Perform other duties as assigned by School Leaders and HOD(Science).

Job description

Job Scope:

• Provide logistical and technical support to the teachers-in-charge of Science, contributing to students' learning experience by assisting with the preparation and maintenance of materials/apparatus for practical work.
• Upkeep and maintain the school's outdoor green learning spaces through the conduct of regular horticultural activities including de-weeding, plant pruning, fruit protection, and harvesting, as well as the propagation and replacement of plants, and routine maintenance and servicing of associated equipment such as Vegepods and self watering timers.
• Ensure laboratory safety rules and risk‑assessment guidelines are adhered to through proper housekeeping and regular maintenance of safety equipments and fittings in the Science laboratory.
• Assist HOD (Science) to collate existing resources, maintain stock checks, place orders, take care of deliveries and invoices as well as keep departmental financial records.
• To perform any other duty assigned by School Leaders, HOD(Science) and other assigned School Staff.

Requirements:

• Good understanding of laboratory safety would be essential.
• Preferably have studied science in school or a recognized institute of learning.
• At least ‘O’ Levels certificate or minimum 2 years experience working in a primary school laboratory.
• Good communicator who can work well with both adults and children.
• Proficient in use of Microsoft productivity tools such as Word, Excel and Powerpoint to maintain proper book-keeping records.
• Proficient in hands‑on skills to carry out simple repairs on common Science learning materials such as electrical circuit components or customised activity kits.
• Good knowledge with practical skills on the growing and maintenance of plants.

Working Hours:

Mon to Fri: 7.30am to 5pm, 1 hour lunch break

Contract Period:

1 Jan 2027 to 31 Dec 2027 (With the option to extend till 31 Dec 2028)

Salary:

$2100-$2300/month
