Job summary

WSH Experts Pte Ltd invites applications for a Laboratory Operations role within a school setting to oversee daily Science laboratories and the preparation room. You will ensure a safe, well-organised environment and assist with equipment and materials for practical lessons.

You will also manage inventory, procurement, and administrative duties, supporting teachers and STEM activities while upholding safety procedures and compliance across the laboratory.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the Science laboratories and preparation room.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe laboratory environment.
• Prepare, set up and clear equipment, apparatus, specimens and materials for practical lessons, demonstrations and experiments.
• Work closely with the HOD/Science and teachers to prepare resources for curriculum lessons, enrichment programmes and ad hoc Science activities.
• Provide support during practical lessons where required.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, apparatus, models and teaching resources in good working condition.
• Maintain accurate inventory, stock usage and breakage records.
• Conduct annual stocktaking and recommend the purchase or replacement of equipment and consumables.
• Support the procurement of Science apparatus, equipment and consumables by monitoring stock levels, preparing purchase requests, obtaining quotations where required, verifying deliveries and updating inventory records.
• Report faulty or damaged equipment promptly.
• Ensure the safe storage, handling and proper record-keeping of chemicals.
• Maintain laboratory safety equipment and report safety hazards immediately.
• Uphold safe laboratory practices and comply with school safety procedures.
• Manage the distribution and collection of Science teaching and learning resources, including teachers’ desk copies.
• Support Science-related programmes such as E2K, Green Club, STEM activities and other departmental initiatives.
• Perform other laboratory-related duties assigned by the HOD/Science or School Leaders.
