Job summary

BUSINESS EDGE PERSONNEL SERVICES PTE LTD is seeking a part-time Kitchen Assistant for School Food & Nutrition sessions in Punggol. You will assist in two kitchens, receive and verify supplier orders, and prepare ingredients for culinary classes while upholding high hygiene and safety standards.

Responsibilities include inventory, tidying the prep rooms, and guiding students in food preparation under NFS Teachers’ supervision.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualification of PSLE.
• Valid WSQ FSC Level 1 Certificate.
• At least 3 years of relevant working experience as a Food & Consumer Education (FCE) / Nutrition & Food Science (NFS) kitchen assistant at a Secondary School.
• Able to calculate ingredient quantities for up to eight classes per level.
• Able to communicate confidently, both verbally and in writing.

• Conducting inventory and stock-taking of resources e.g. books, equipment, appliances and utensils.
• Maintaining the general tidiness, orderliness and cleanliness of the Teacher Preparation Room and two Kitchens.
• Assisting the NFS Teachers during culinary sessions including ensuring that students observe safety rules and guiding students in food preparation skills.
• Performing any other duties as assigned by the NFS Teachers.

Contract Duration:

• Semester 1 (2027): 1 Jan 2027 to 4 June 2027
• Semester 2 (2027): 28 June 2027 to 3 Sep 2027 and 10 Sep 2027 to 30 Nov 2027

Option Year (2028):

• Semester 1 (2028):1 Jan 2028 to 2 June 2028
• Semester 2 (2028): 3 July 2028 to 8 Sep 2028 and 13 Sep 2028 to 30 Nov 2028

Working Arrangement:

• Mondays to Thursdays: 7.30am to 3.30pm
• Fridays: 7.30am to 12.30pm
• Lunch break: 1 hour
• Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays
• Working hours are subject to changes. On certain days (fewer than 10 days in a year), longer working hours up to 6.30pm may be required.The school will endeavour to provide advance notice where possible

Location: Punggol

Salary: $2000 to 2145 per month
