Job summary

Geylang Methodist School (Secondary) invites applications for a Kitchen Assistant on a fixed-term contract from 1 Jan 2027 to 31 Oct 2027, with a possible extension to 31 Oct 2028. Responsibilities include cleaning, stock management, online groceries, and meal prep for lessons within the school kitchens.

Hours are Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 1:00pm, with flexibility to meet school needs. Candidates should be a reliable team player with multitasking ability and at least 2 years of relevant

Qualifications

• The Personnel should preferably have the following Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
• 1) An effective team player with good interpersonal and communication skills.
• 2) A meticulous individual who is able to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment
• 3) 2 years of relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

• General Cleanliness of School Kitchens and Preparatory Room: Sweep and mop kitchens daily (after practical lessons); ensure stoves and workings units are clean; maintain cleanliness of equipment and 4 refrigerators.
• Online Ordering and Receiving of Groceries: Receive orders from NTUC/Giant/Sheng Siong/Heng’s Minimart and check against receipt; pack and place in the fridge.
• Food Ingredients and Equipment Preparation for Lessons: Prepare and portion ingredients; prepare equipment for students as needed.
• Conduct Stock-taking of Equipment: Check all equipment is returned and cleaned; assist teachers in accounting for sharp equipment.
• Monitoring of General Maintenance of Kitchen Hardware: Organize equipment in cupboards; report faulty items for repair or replacement.
