Job summary

Sunnyhill Ace is seeking a dedicated Youth Worker to support students with additional needs within a school setting. You will collaborate with the Student Development Team and teachers to foster social-emotional growth and restorative practices.

Responsibilities include targeted interventions, socio-emotional development support, executive functioning coaching, in-class assistance during lessons, and after-school mentoring.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, Child Development, Youth Work or related.
• Must be a Registered Social Worker (RSW) or Registered Social Work Practitioner (RSWP) with SASW.
• Minimum 2 years of school-based social work experience.
• Certification in Restorative Practice / Building Relational Capacity preferred.
• Strong background in supporting children/youth with additional needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide targeted monitoring and intervention for identified students.
• Support socio-emotional development, emotional regulation, empathy, and conflict resolution.
• Coach executive functioning: goal-setting, organization, task initiation.
• Deliver in-class and integration support during curriculum hours.
• Plan and review after-school mentoring and engagement programs.
• Manage the school’s Oasis sanctuary space to maintain a safe environment.
• Document student needs and communicate updates to School Leaders and families.
