Job summary

Innova Primary School seeks a Youth Work Associate to mentor students with additional needs and support social-emotional development. The role runs across school terms with termly family activities and weekend projects, requiring MOE registration by ITQ closing date and collaboration with teachers, parents and community partners.

Experience in youth work or related fields is preferred, including AMIS certification.

Qualifications

• MOE registration by the ITQ closing date.
• Relevant experience supporting children or youths with high support needs.
• Preferred qualifications in youth work, social work, counselling, education, psychology or related fields; 3 years of experience.
• Preferred: AMIS certification and collaboration with parents or partners.
• Ability to build trust, collaborate with staff, maintain records and safeguard information.

Responsibilities

• Mentor students with additional needs through observations and small-group sessions.
• Plan level-bonding activities each term and coordinate resources and safety.
• Deliver projects using arts, music and experiential activities to build social-emotional skills.
• Support homework sessions, organization and study habits within professional boundaries.
• Record attendance and progress, provide updates to staff and leaders.
• Coordinate family-bonding activities and prepare newsletters.
• Collaborate with professionals and external partners; conduct staff workshops.
• Maintain student confidentiality and refer cases requiring specialist intervention.
