Job summary

JointHire Singapore Pte Ltd is seeking an experienced logistics sales professional to lead bulk shipping liaison, secure new business from shippers, and prepare quotations for import/export operations. Role involves traveling to Japan and Southeast Asia for sales activities and handling ad hoc projects.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in logistics/shipping, strong client-relations skills, and proficiency in English and Japanese.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in logistics, shipping, or freight forwarding.
• Proven ability to develop new business and manage client relations.
• Proficient in English and Japanese for liaising with counterparts and customers.
• Experience in import/export operations and preparing quotations.
• Willingness to travel for sales activities as required.
• Knowledge of bulk vessel business is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Main contact for bulk shipping and build relationships with shipping companies.
• Conduct sales activities to secure new business opportunities from shippers.
• Prepare quotations for import/export operations and develop new clients.
• Maintain relationships with existing clients and explore upsell opportunities.

Job Description

• Main contact for bulk shipping, building and maintaining relationships with shipping companies and handling quotations - Conduct sales activities to secure new business opportunities from shippers - Prepare quotations for import/export operations, develop new clients, and maintain relationships with existing clients - Business trips to Japan and Southeast Asia for sales activities when required - Other ad hoc projects/duties as assigned by the company

Job Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in the logistics industry, shipping companies, or freight forwarders
• Practical experience in import/export operations and preparing quotations
• Proven track record in new business development and client relationship management
• Proficient in English and Japanese to liaise with Japanese speaking counterparts and customers
• Proactive in conducting outside sales visits
• Understanding of Japanese business etiquette and practices (experience in a Japanese company is a plus)
• Preferably experience in arranging conventional vessels and negotiating with shipping companies
• Knowledge and experience in bulk vessel business is a plus point
• Sales and customer oriented

Compensation

• Working location: 8-10 mins walking distance to Jurong East MRT
• Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM
