Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and motivated Sales Engineer, F&B to join our dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities
- Your role is to maintain and grow Watson‑Marlow Fluid Technology Solutions Sales in your assigned sector: F&B and secondary Sector: Industrial
- To establish Watson‑Marlow Fluid Technology Solutions direct customer sales operations in your assigned territory
- Own and grow direct/indirect customer relationships across Singapore, identifying new business opportunities and expanding market share within the F&B sector
- To provide customers and resellers the most suitable equipment selection for the required application
- To rapidly market and grow WMFTS products to new prospects in a strategically planned manner and geographically expand sales network in your assigned territory
- Use closeness to your markets to feed back into marketing strategy and tactics to develop our position further and create new leads
- Provide technical guidance and assistance to other departments as required
- Maintain contact with customers and ensure Watson‑Marlow Fluid Technology Solutions products are specified
- Generate and convert new business opportunities through proactive prospecting, account mapping, networking, and customer engagement activities
- Identify design consultants and engineering contractors involved in projects with close and regular contact, making us their preferred pump choice
- Identify upcoming projects and ensure Watson‑Marlow Fluid Technology Solutions products are specified
- Keep your direct manager and relevant team members updated on projects by discussion and to maintain and progress projects
- Arrange and run customer training and presentations, which can be on‑site and/or office based
- Feed back potential product improvements and complaints, where new applications offer greater potential but existing specifications exclude or lessen our suitability
- Increase our market share by replacing other pump types and other manufacturers’ peristaltic pumps
- Keep your direct manager and relevant team members updated with competitor activity encountered in the marketplace
- Identify, organise and progress field trials
- Identify and lead marketing activities maintaining our brand and find new opportunities
- Keep CRM up to date with all customer activities
- Conduct all activities in accordance with the Quality Management System
- Regularly attend selected exhibitions and provide necessary market reports/trends
- Develop account plans for key Food & Beverage customers, OEMs, System Integrators and Engineering Contractors
Skills and Experience
- Able to lead, communicate and foster relationships with customers and colleagues
- Fault finding and problem‑solving skills
- Prioritising workload
- Working in a largely unsupervised manner
- Working within procedural guidelines in a methodical manner
Education and Experience Requirements
- Formal relevant engineering qualifications or strong business background
- Possess a strong Hunter/Farmer mindset to proactively seek new sales leads
- Preferably with experience in the Fluid Handling industry (Pumps) and worked actively with the F&B & Industrial Sector
- Minimum of 4‑5 years experience in a business development/sales role
- Proficient in both English writing and reading competencies

Computer Competencies
- Computer literate, able to create correspondence in Word
- Able to use Excel/Access to analyse, collate and present data
- Able to use Outlook for e‑mail and appointment tracking purposes
- Knowledge of and experience working with an ERP system (Enterprise Resource Planning)
- Must continue to grow with existing and upcoming technology in an effort to become increasingly efficient
Essential Functions – Travel Requirements
- Ability and willingness to travel nationally within Singapore as required for your assigned territory
- In a periodic manner, the ability and willingness to travel regionally and internationally for training and conferences as required
