Job summary

ISETAN (SINGAPORE) LIMITED in Singapore is seeking a customer-focused Retail Associate to engage shoppers, assess needs, and provide product recommendations. You will operate the POS system, process payments, and ensure accurate transactions while maintaining presentation standards.

You will manage inventory, conduct stock checks, assist with deliveries, and uphold health and safety policies. Weekend, evening, and public holiday shifts are required to support sales targets and a welcoming store

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and identify their needs to provide tailored product recommendations


• Operate POS systems to process cash and card payments accurately and efficiently


• Handle product returns and exchanges while maintaining customer satisfaction


• Drive individual and store sales targets through effective customer engagement


• Keep shelves stocked and maintain visual merchandising standards to enhance the shopping experience


• Maintain a clean and organized store floor to ensure a safe and welcoming environment


• Receive and inspect new stock deliveries for accuracy and quality


• Conduct regular stocktakes and report low-stock or damaged items promptly


• Follow security protocols and loss-prevention guidelines to protect store assets


• Adhere to health and safety rules to maintain a safe workplace for staff and customers


• Stand or walk for extended periods and assist with moving and stocking merchandise as needed

Required competencies and certifications

• Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and transaction processing


• Familiarity with POS software to operate sales systems effectively

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Education at GCE 'O' Level, 'N' Level, or secondary school level


• Prior retail experience


• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage customers and team members


• Ability to work retail shift hours, including weekends, evenings, and public holidays


• Physical stamina to perform duties involving standing, walking, and merchandise handling
