Job summary

tk elevator singapore pte. ltd. is seeking a Workplace Safety and Health Manager to advise management and on-site teams on safety and health measures, ensuring compliance with Singapore legislation.

The role develops and manages the corporate and site occupational safety and health systems, reports incidents, and drives safety training across sites. You will review risk assessments, lead audits, promote safe work practices, and coordinate preventive measures to maintain a strong safety culture

Responsibilities

• Advising management and job-site teams on measures to protect safety and health at the workplace.
• Implementing, monitoring and improving the occupational health and safety management system in line with Singapore legislation.
• Developing safety rules and supporting management in case of non-compliance with safety rules and regulations.
• Reviewing method statements, job hazard analyses and risk assessments for compliance with legal requirements and company standards.
• Recommending repairs or engineering controls to ensure safety and health of employees and others.
• Planning and delivering safety training and awareness programs for employees and subcontractors.
• Conducting regular site inspections and issuing reports with recommendations and follow-up actions.
• Leading safety audits and inspections and monitoring compliance with legal and company safety requirements.
• Investigating accidents, incidents and near misses with root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Carrying out ad hoc safety duties to support continuous safety culture improvement.

Job description

Act as the company’s Workplace Safety and Health Manager, advising management and job-site teams on measures needed to protect the safety and health of all persons at the workplace and to comply with Singapore legislation.
Implement, monitor and continuously improve the corporate and site occupational health and safety management system (including Workplace Safety and Health Act requirements where applicable), procedures and work instructions.
Develop and issue safety and health rules for various activities and operations, and support management in taking appropriate measures in the event of non-compliance with safety rules and regulations.
Review and provide input on method statements, job hazard analyses and risk assessments submitted for approval, ensuring they are aligned with legal requirements and company standards.
Recommend repairs, maintenance or engineering controls required to ensure the safety and health of employees and other persons with respect to premises, equipment and work practices.
Plan, develop and deliver safety training and awareness programs to all levels of employees, sub-contractors and workers, including specific topics of Workplace Safety and Health management training required by local regulations, if any.
Conduct regular site inspections, i.e. job-site walks, safety toolkit checks, permit-to-work verification to identify hazards, unsafe conditions and unsafe acts, and issue timely reports with recommendations and follow-up actions.
Lead and coordinate internal and external safety audits and inspections, including those conducted by corporate teams, clients and government authorities.
Monitor compliance with legal and company safety requirements, promote safe work behaviour and intervene where necessary to prevent unsafe practices.
Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses and dangerous occurrences, prepare reports with root-cause analysis and recommendations, and follow up on the implementation and effectiveness of corrective and preventive measures.
Perform other Workplace Safety and Health management-related duties and ad hoc projects as assigned by management to support continuous improvement of safety culture and performance.
Adhere to Global Safety policy, STP, CMR, MSR roll‑outs, AP and SEA Safety roll‑out campaigns.
Supports field operations in the development and implementation of safework practices for New Installation and Maintenance Service processes.
Empowered to recommend and enforce work stoppage in cases of serious safety non-compliance, in line with company standards and local regulations.
Accountable for ensuring required pre-work safety verifications (e.g. JHA, permit-to-work or equivalent) are completed and verified before work starts.
Any other duties as may be reasonably required by the company.
