Job summary

Crystal Offshore Pte. Ltd. is seeking a Safety Supervisor to ensure HSE compliance across shipyard sites, enforce permit-to-work rules, and coordinate with subcontractors’ teams. The role includes safety inductions, incident investigations, and active participation in JSA/RA processes.

Candidate must possess relevant safety certificates, have at least three years in a marine shipyard, and be proficient in MS Excel/Word/PowerPoint. Weekend duty and independent work are required.

Qualifications

• Must hold Shipyard Safety Supervisor Certificate and related safety assessments.
• Experience in a marine shipyard environment is required (minimum 3 years).
• Proficient in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint; capable of independent work.

Responsibilities

• Comply with Permit-To-Work system and oversee subcontractors in the shipyard.
• Lead daily toolbox meetings with shipyard and subcontractors’ workforce.
• Attend Vessel Safety Coordination Committee meetings.
• Conduct safety inductions as needed and ensure HSE compliance on sites.
• Prepare incident investigations and report to Safety/Project Managers.
• Supervise safety during heavy lifting operations and participate in audits.
• Advise on unsafe acts and participate in JSA and RA activities.

Job Description:

• Complying with the shipyard’s Permit-To-Work system and enforcing compliance with all subcontractors working in the shipyard.
• Participate actively in daily daily Tool Box meetings with the shipyard and subcontractors’ workforce.
• Attending the daily Vessel Safety Coordination Committee meetings.
• Conducting Safety Inductions whenever necessary.
• Ensuring HSE compliance by subcontractors at work sites in all types of works in the shipyard, such as, scaffolding, compartments and tanks entry, piping, structure, electrical, instrumentation, hydrotesting, loading testing, blasting, painting, liftings,etc.
• Carry out and submit any Incident/Accident Investigation Report to the shipyard Safety Manager and Project Manager, where required.
• Supervision of safety compliance during heavy lifting operations assigned to him/her.
• Participate in in-house and/or client safety and ISO audits, when required.
• Advise, increase awareness to all shipyard and subcontractors’ workforce on unsafe acts, behaviour and conditions.
• Participate actively in Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Risk Assessment (RA), including inspecting and monitoring safety requirements.

• Must possess Safety Confine Space Entry Assessor Certificate.
• Must possess Working at Height Assessor Certificate.
• Minimum three years relevant experience in a marine shipyard environment.
• Must be computer literate in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Able to work independently in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
• Able to work on weekends and public holidays on a duty roster basis.
• High level of integrity and resourceful.
