Nanyang Technological University Singapore's School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering seeks a Research Engineer to advance cutting-edge algorithms for uncertainty-aware robot perception and robust manipulation. You will design, implement and experimentally validate software/hardware for robotic systems, directly supporting NTU’s commitment to world-class robotics research and industrial innovation.

The role requires strong C++ and Python skills, ROS/ROS2 experience, and Linux proficiency.

Competenze

• Master’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
• Strong programming in C++ and Python; hands-on ROS/ROS2 and Linux.
• Solid background in robot perception, state estimation, computer vision, or manipulation under uncertainty.
• Open-source software contributions, code versioning (Git) desirable.
• Excellent technical writing and collaborative research skills.

Mansioni

• Design, implement, and benchmark algorithms in probabilistic robotics and uncertainty-aware perception.
• Lead development, maintenance, and open-source releases of ROS/ROS2 packages and libraries.
• Perform software-hardware integration for robotic manipulators, sensors, and actuators.
• Plan and execute experimental validation in lab and field settings; evaluate perception-action loops.
• Draft invention disclosures for patents/IP protection and write research manuscripts for top-tier robotics venues.
• Manage laboratory infrastructure and co-guide student researchers.
