Job summary

Nanyang Technological University invites applications for a Research Associate / Research Engineer II to conduct cutting-edge research and software/hardware development in robotic systems operating under uncertainty. The role focuses on designing, implementing and validating advanced algorithms in uncertainty-aware perception and robust manipulation.

You will lead open-source software development (ROS/ROS2, Python/C++, Linux), handle software–hardware integration with manipulators and sensors,

Qualifications

Master’s degree required in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
Strong programming skills in C++ and Python with ROS/ROS2 experience.
Experience with uncertainty-aware perception, state estimation, or manipulation.
Experience with open-source contributions, Git, or patents is desirable.
Excellent technical writing and collaborative skills.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and benchmark algorithms in probabilistic robotics and uncertainty-aware perception.
Lead development and public release of open-source software repositories (ROS/ROS2, Python/C++ libraries).
Execute software–hardware integration for robotic manipulators, sensors, and actuators.
Plan and perform experimental validation in lab and field settings.
Draft invention disclosures and manuscripts for top robotics venues.
Manage laboratory infrastructure and supervise student researchers.
