Job summary

Google Inc. is seeking an Operations Technician to install, configure, test, troubleshoot and maintain server hardware and software in our cutting-edge data centers.

You will handle complex components such as networks, routers, hubs and switches, and participate in small project teams on installations. You will monitor the robotic system and ensure PM procedures are followed, while diagnosing issues that affect the robot's interaction with the server infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Experience in hardware/OS, coding and scripting or networking domains.
• Experience troubleshooting and diagnosing computer, server, and network hardware.
• Experience with data center infrastructure: mechanical, electrical or similar.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and work on platforms, ladders, and under raised floors.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the robotic system's performance, checking for errors or unusual behavior.
• Understand Preventive Maintenance procedures for tier 1 technicians.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot software, hardware, or robot interactions with servers; document issues.
• Install robot operating software and system updates for data center compatibility.
• Collaborate with data center staff, robotics professionals, and security personnel to align operations.
