Google Asia Pacific PTE. LTD. is seeking an Operations Technician to install, configure, test, and maintain hardware and server software in a cutting-edge data center environment.

You will monitor robotic systems, perform preventive maintenance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable, scalable infrastructure. The role requires hands-on physical work, strong problem-solving, and comfort with complex hardware and networking tasks.

Qualifications

• Experience in hardware/OS, coding and networking domains.
• Experience with troubleshooting computer, server, and network hardware.
• Experience with data center infrastructure: mechanical, electrical or similar.
• Experience with meters, devices, sensors, and troubleshooting equipment.
• Experience with troubleshooting hardware/network issues using Linux tools.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs of equipment, and work on platforms, ladders, and under raised floors.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the robotic system's performance, checking for any error messages, unusual behavior, or signs of malfunction, use specialized software to track the robot's activities and health.
• Understand all Preventive Maintenance (PM) procedures and schedules to ensure they can be carried out by a tier 1 technician.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot any issues that occur, whether it's a software glitch, a hardware malfunction, or a problem with the robot's interaction with the server infrastructure. Perform troubleshooting/repairs and generate documentation.
• Install robot's operating software and related systems updates and ensure they are compatible with the data center's environment.
• Work closely with other data center staff, including robotics professionals, and security personnel. Communicate any issues, coordinate maintenance activities, and ensure the robot's operations align with the overall data center operations.
