The Assistant Retail Manager supports the Retail Manager in overseeing the daily operations and performance of multiple retail stores while ensuring a consistent and exceptional customer experience across all sales channels. This role is responsible for driving sales growth, managing store operations, coordinating retail marketing campaigns, supporting staff development, and overseeing omnichannel sales initiatives to achieve business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Retail Operations

• Assist in overseeing the daily operations of multiple retail outlets to ensure operational excellence and compliance with company standards.
• Conduct regular store visits to monitor merchandising, cleanliness, inventory management, customer service, and visual presentation.
• Ensure all stores adhere to company policies, SOPs, health and safety regulations, and loss prevention procedures.
• Monitor store productivity and implement operational improvements to enhance efficiency.

Sales & Performance Management

• Support the achievement of monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets across all retail locations.
• Analyse sales reports, customer traffic, conversion rates, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify growth opportunities.
• Work closely with store supervisors to improve sales performance through coaching, motivation, and action plans.
• Monitor inventory turnover and collaborate with merchandising teams to optimise product assortment.

Omnichannel Sales Management

• Coordinate and manage the integration of online and offline sales channels to provide a seamless customer experience.
• Monitor omnichannel fulfilment processes, including Click & Collect, online order fulfilment, returns, and inventory synchronisation.
• Collaborate with the e-commerce team to maximise online sales opportunities and improve customer satisfaction.
• Analyse omnichannel sales performance and recommend strategies to increase customer engagement and revenue.

Retail Marketing & Campaign Coordination

• Coordinate retail marketing campaigns, seasonal promotions, product launches, and in-store events across all retail outlets.
• Work closely with the marketing team to ensure timely implementation of campaign materials, POS displays, and promotional activities.
• Monitor campaign execution and evaluate effectiveness through sales performance and customer feedback.
• Ensure consistent brand presentation and customer experience across all retail touchpoints.

Team Leadership & Development

• Support the recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management of retail staff.
• Coach and mentor store supervisors and retail associates to improve product knowledge, customer service, and sales techniques.
• Prepare staff schedules and ensure adequate manpower planning across multiple stores.
• Foster a positive, collaborative, and customer-focused working environment.

Inventory & Merchandising

• Work with inventory and warehouse teams to maintain optimal stock levels.
• Monitor stock movements, replenishment, transfers, and stock accuracy across all stores.
• Ensure visual merchandising standards are consistently maintained in accordance with brand guidelines.
• Assist with stocktakes, inventory audits, and loss prevention initiatives.

Customer Experience

• Ensure excellent customer service standards are maintained across all stores.
• Resolve escalated customer complaints professionally and promptly.
• Monitor customer feedback and implement initiatives to improve overall customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Reporting & Administration

• Prepare weekly and monthly retail performance reports.
• Analyse sales trends, promotional effectiveness, staffing productivity, and operational metrics.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and retail planning activities.
• Perform other duties assigned by management.
