Job Description: Retail Stores Assistant Manager

Position Title: Retail Stores Assistant Manager

Department: Retail Operations

Reports To: Retail Operations Manager / Area Manager

Locations: Multi-Unit Oversight (Permanent Stores & Pop-Up Locations)

Role Overview

The Retail Stores Assistant Manager supports the daily operational excellence, staff performance, and inventory integrity across multiple permanent retail outlets and temporary pop-up stores. This role balances hands-on floor leadership with logistical planning, event coordination, and administrative management to drive sales targets and ensure consistent brand standards across all locations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Multi-Store Operations & Site Management

• Oversee daily opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and floor visual merchandising across all assigned permanent outlets and pop-ups.

• Conduct regular site visits to ensure adherence to company standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety guidelines, and brand presentation standards.

• Act as the primary point of contact to troubleshoot day-to-day operational issues across locations.

2. Inventory & Stock Management

• Monitor stock levels across multiple locations and coordinate timely replenishments and inter-store stock transfers.

• Conduct regular inventory audits and cycle counts to minimize discrepancies and shrinkage.

• Coordinate with warehouse/logistics teams to ensure smooth inbound deliveries and return merchandise processing.

3. Team Leadership & Attendance Management

• Supervise, mentor, and coach frontline retail supervisors and sales associates.

• Manage shift rostering, leave scheduling, and daily time and attendance tracking to ensure optimal store coverage and control labor costs.

• Lead onboarding, product knowledge training, and customer service upskilling for full-time and temporary event staff.

4. Pop-Up Stores & Event Execution

• Coordinate end-to-end logistics for pop-up activations, trade fairs, and promotional roadshows (venue bookings, booth setup, teardown, and staffing).

• Liaise with event organizers, mall management, and third-party vendors for permits, power/network access, and delivery schedules.

• Evaluate event performance post-activation, analyzing sales revenue, foot traffic, and inventory turnover.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Sales & Revenue: Achievement of target store sales across permanent and pop-up locations.

• Labor Efficiency: Adherence to scheduled labor budgets and low absenteeism.

• Inventory Control: Shrinkage rates under company target (<1%) and minimal out-of-stock incidents.

• Event Execution: On-time setup, operational compliance, and positive ROI for temporary activations.
