• Manage cash drawer, balance registers, and print sales reports.
• Greet guests, answer questions about menu and promotions, handle special requests, and resolve complaints.
• Coordinate with kitchen and wait staff to ensure orders match receipts and handle takeout packaging.
• Maintain cleanliness and health & safety standards at the checkout counter and surrounding area.

Core Responsibilities

• Order & Payment Processing: Take food and drink orders, enter them into Point-of-Sale (POS) systems (such as Toast, Square, or Clover), and process cash, credit, debit, and mobile wallet transactions. [1]
• Cash Management: Count the cash drawer (float) at the start and end of shifts, issue correct change, print sales reports, and balance registers. [1, 2, 3]
• Customer Service: Greet guests warmly upon arrival, answer questions about menu items and promotions, handle special requests, and resolve complaints professionally. [1, 2]
• Front-of-House Coordination: Coordinate with kitchen and wait staff to ensure orders match receipts, package takeout or counter orders, and restock front-of-house supplies like napkins, straws, and condiments. [1, 2]
